Here is bit of info on how golf will be integrated in to the Olympics in the US.
The US Olympic Committee has all the Olympic Sports divided up into groups that teams of “performance specialists” work with; Technology, Biomechanics, Nutrition, Psych, Physiology etc. We call them Sportfolios. I am one of the sport technologists/biomechanists. Golf is in my sportfolio (along with Track and Field, Swimming, and several others). I work at the Olympic Training Center in the San Diego area.
